He said "stop"

"maybe I should make fairies stop glowing so brightly"

Galdon responds:

If you caught that without reading my comment, a cookie goes to you. He originally says that then at the end nothing happens, and he realizes his mistake, after changing the ending I forgot to alter the line. I'm going to be fixing it as soon as my voice actor is available.

3D layers

did you use the 3D layers in flash, or was that the After Effects part you mentioned. I haven't really seen anyone use the 3D layers, but the results would look similar to what you have there.

I did notice some stiff parts. Especially when he's carrying the dead bird and his back is stiff as a board. definanly an opertunity to have posing tell the character's emotions. He should look sad in that part, he looked like he had a back brace there. A lot of good stuff though. That end pose was humorus.

RiverJordan responds:

I did the character animations in flash, the backgorunds in photoshop, and everything mixed together into 3D space in after effects.

3D layers in after effects are also like 9000000x more powerful than flash's 2.5d feature.

Good catch on the stiff back thing too.

Long way to go

You pulled off the overlapping actions pretty well, but the actual animation of the character was poor. He didn't have strong poses, and the inbetweens were swimmy like you let the computer do the work. Shape tweens with multiple objects always looks bad, paticularly that odd scramble effect that occurs (like when the balls turned into another character).

Also the background: white. That's never good.

But you do show some serious potential taking on a complex animation where you've got so many interactions at once. You should look for tutorials to bump up your character animation skill. I suggest Richard Williams' animator's survival kit (I think he put some segments on youtube).

Keep practicing, and move away from sticks as soon as you can.

darkpower508 responds:

Thanks for the advice, I'll work on it. Also, when the balls turned into the stick man, I was hoping to get that effect.

noises

this looks like practice more than an actual animation, it was really short.

anyways, the reason the sound continues is because you probably set it to event, or start, but if you were to set it to stream it would play only what it shows in the timeline. Event sound will play over themself if you play the animation passed the starting point of the sound in the animation, so those are the worst, the only reason to use event is if it is a really short sound. Start sound will continue playing, but they don't play duplicate noises over themselves like events do, so if you use start sounds it's usually fine

I liked the atmospheric noise after the animation was over, but really the quality was poor, most elements were static, But I think you can do better. You might consider looking at some of the tutorials here on newgrounds, especially since it's easier to get what I was saying a bout the sounds when you have pictures to guide you... if tutorials have pictures... I'll have to check on that.

FjChezz responds:

Hmm well I check and the birds sound is on stream I really dont know whats wrong.

Improvement...

you could start by spelling "one" correctly

ElsonWong-Darkspeeds responds:

Thank you for your feedback SuperFakeFilms. Please understand that this is my fist day here in Newgrounds.com and having recieved a mixed bag of feedback from a foreign site is new experience for me.

Could you please clarify what you meant by the number? I checked the animation test again and I don't quite understand what you mean... ^^;; I don't see a problem with my spelling on the intro and ending. It would be cool to see where you got this mistake from. *thumbs up*

Background.

you need backdrops of sky color, and sometimes that radom darkness when people are thinking like in the show...

but more importantly, you need them to talk. I hate word bubbles, you can have word bubbles while they're talking, but words alone gets annoying. And all new people do it.

the white background ends up in blamville alot, best of luck to you though it was rather good animation, though I don't like parodies much.

fadedshadow responds:

Actually, i used a very light sky-blue for the sky, but yeah i see wat u mean

Interesting

very unique background style, but your characters really need development.

Also, how did he take a taxi from the Chzech Republic to somewhere in Northern America, by going throu Australia?

I like that song

Hoogiman responds:

Wigglytuff has written a poem for you.

Wig Wiggly Wig, (Roses are Red)
Wig Iggly ig Wig, (Violets are Blue)
Wiggly Wig. (Tables are not the best kind of thing to try and eat)

That is a class poem there, my friend.
